the turning point for success

20 02 2006

An interesting quote I found :

I found every single successful person I’ve ever spoken to had a turning point and the turning point was where they made a clear specific unequivocal decision that they were not going to live like this anymore. That they were going to achieve success. Some people make that decision at 15 and some people make it at 50, and most people never make it at all. ~ Brian Tracy, motivational specialist

Most people never realize their full potential, or even anywhere close. We all have the capability to make a difference in this world, in some way. We can help people one at a time, we can invent things, we can write books or music or movies, etc. I’m not saying we all should be rich & famous, but we all can make a difference in this world. But the question is, how dedicated are you? Do we knowyou r purpose? Are you focused on the goal? Are you disciplined enough to continue through the hard times?  Will you pay the price necessary to follow your destiny, or will you drift through life with only good intentions, wondering what could have been?
It seems like many people settle for mediocrity — not being all that happy, not helping other people, not finding all that God has offered to us. Society tells us to be busy and to consume lots of entertainment, but there’s more to life than that! Figure out why you were created, then go after it, and don’t let anything stop you from becoming all that God desires you to be.

You may wonder what difference you or I can make in this world… a valid question, because this world is so huge and there’s so much going on these days. But many people throughout history have impacted the world in a big way, and they were ordinary people like you and me. And if God is on your side and you’re walking in alignment with His will, He will empower you to do more than you can even dream of.

So figure out your purpose in life… and then decide to go for it, making whatever changes are necessary…
