man faces death penalty for becoming Christian

Here in America, we take our freedom for granted… but in some parts of the world, changing your religion can result in execution. The judge in this case in Afghanistan sounded like he was trying to be politically correct, but that’s impossible when a man may be sentenced to death for converting to Christianity :

“We are not against any particular religion in the world. But in Afghanistan, this sort of thing is against the law,” the judge told the Associated Press. “It is an attack on Islam. … The prosecutor is asking for the death penalty.”

That kind of oppression almost forces citizens to remain in Islam. But obviously the man who converted had strong convictions about what he did…

This is in Afghanistan where we just finished overthrowing one oppressive regime, only to put another in place, I guess. I agree with the war, but if this is the best replacement gov’t. we can find, that’s pathetic. Out with the intolerant Taliban, in with the anti-Christian persecutors. They must have swapped the Taliban for liberal Democrats.

This is the same kind of things that happens in Saudi Arabia as well; anytime there is fundamentalist Muslim leadership in power, Christians will suffer.
