a simple one-question quiz

22 01 2008

I got an e-mail that had some quiz-type questions, and I wanted to pass one along, because it makes you think.  After all, it’s good to think and search your memory, because it exercises your brain.

There are three root words in standard English that start with the letters “dw”.  They are all fairly common words that you’ve most likely heard before.  Can you name them?

Don’t post your answers in the comments, so you don’t give it away to others.  If you want the answers, just ask for them in a comment, and put your e-mail address in the form (but not in the comment text).

BTW, I thought of four, plus a name, but names don’t count, and the fourth word was slang so it didn’t count.  So it can be done.
