take a 60 second praise break

24 07 2008

It’s so easy to get caught up in the busyness of the day, because most of us have so much going on.  And thus it’s easy to be so focused on what you’re doing that you’re not focused on God.  Of course, we have to focus on our work and other tasks, but we don’t want to neglect God all day just because we’re busy.  So right now, try this:

Let’s take a 60 second praise break. ~ T.D. Jakes

Ideally, we’ll pray and worship throughout the day, but to get started on that goal, try taking just one minute right now to praise God for saving you and for all the blessings He has given you and for His protection and provision.

I know, you’re busy, but it’s just one minute.  God deserves all our praise (and then some), plus this moment of refocusing your mind will do more for you than anything else.  Step away from your desk if you need to get away from work.  I think it’s important to keep renewing our mind throughout the day.  A few minutes of prayer in the morning isn’t sufficient to keep us walking in the Spirit throughout the day.
