give thanks

26 11 2008

I hope that over the next few days everyone takes time to be thankful for all the good things in their life.  We should always be thankful (which the Bible says, “give thanks in all circumstances”), but it’s easy to take blessings for granted.  We should also be thankful for our freedoms.  Our founding fathers in America paid a big price to provide the freedom we now have.  (And unfortunately that part of history isn’t being taught accurately very often.)

Hopefully you’ll get to spend some time with friends and family, and of course to eat a lot.  🙂  If you want to witness to your family and it’s difficult, you could ask them what they’re most thankful for.  That’s what I’m going to try this year.  If they ask you in turn, that opens the door to telling of your thankfulness for salvation.  That can make witnessing a lot easier, because you’re just speaking from your heart.  I am most thankful for God’s love, His mercy, and His grace, because I don’t deserve any of it.  There is nothing in life better than the love of God.  And I want everyone to know that, so they can experience it for themselves…
