nature

16 12 2008

In my last post I wrote about silence and making quiet time with God, and I mentioned that being in nature helps me hear from God.  I think of Romans 1:20:

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

That seems to say that we can see God’s invisible qualities in nature (i.e., “what has been made”).  That makes sense to me, because I find it to be true.  When I study the science behind nature, I see patterns and plans designed by a Creator.  (To think it all happened by accident takes a LOT of blind faith.)  When I spend time out in nature, it’s usually easier to see and hear God.

Along those lines, I wonder if the enemy is glad to see cities expanding, with all their blah grey concrete, where it’s harder to find a spot “away from it all”.
