more disagreement on global warming

3 02 2009

Recently, the U.N. declared that global warming has been proven beyond a doubt and that it’s man-made.  The same day, just a few minutes later, a news release from the U.S. Senate committee said over 650 international scientists disagree with the findings of the U.N. IPCC.

Ironically, the 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of U.N. scientists (52) who authored the media-hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

The link above gives a preview of what the full report will contain, along with the results of studies saying from 50 to 69 percent of global warming is caused by the sun.

I’ve already told you what I think about global warming, so I won’t start ranting on it again.  You can read it here and here.

I love it when people espouse science as the one true way to enlightenment. Science is about as fickle as a teen in a shopping mall full of discounts. History changes and climates change. If we look at history, normal weather patterns have occured that seem abnormal but in reality that it is the normal cycle of our planet. Get over it.

Did you know that at one point in our early american history it snowed during the summer months???? No coal plants back then. No million cars traveling the dirt roads. It happens. It’s nature.

Of course we can make the world a better place in regards to environmental protection, however, it is sad when due to our laziness as a species a few have to resort to inventing a total fabrication on climate change in order to compel the rest of us to treat our planet with the respect God intended.

Look at our recent bout with gas prices. It took a $4/gallon gas increase in order for us to pay attention to our transportation priorities. Why is it that we are willing to change our behavior only when the consequences of our actions is pain too much to bear?

How many weather experts agreed with the claims by the UN’s IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)? According to some press releases, “2,500 of the world’s leading scientists have reached a consensus that human activities are having a significant influence on the climate”. But according to an IPCC insider (who is also a prominent climate scientist), “only a few dozen experts” agreed with the IPCC’s claims over man-made global warming.

We’ve also heard that some of the sources cited in the IPCC’s report are unfounded, with some based on people who are not experts in the field and who have no proof for their claims!

I wonder what else we will find out…

Global warming still makes a lot of news headlines, but something doesn’t seem right. According to this one website, a lot of recent articles about global warming — going by their headline — claim that their area is warming much faster than everywhere else. But it doesn’t seem like that’s possible. Sounds like hype. Check it out for yourself:

Settled science: Can everyplace really be warming much faster than everyplace else?
